In 2003, Sandy along with eight colleagues, took a risk and formed Nurse Anesthesia of Maine, LLC (NAMe). As a member of the company’s Board of Managers and as the recruiter, Sandy worked tirelessly in the management and direction of NAMe from those early days until 2012. As a successful recruiter, Sandy enthusiastically recruited nurse anesthetists from all over the country to NAMe and to Maine.

Sandy was born and raised on a dairy farm in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada. She followed her future husband to Maine and in 1984 became an American citizen.

Sandy received a degree in Social Services from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto. She worked as a counselor in one of Canada’s first shelters for women and children. Sandy graduated from Husson College’s first class of Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing. After several years working as a critical care nurse, Sandy obtained a Master’s of Science in Nurse Anesthesia degree from the University of New England.

Among Sandy’s numerous interests are traveling, most recently to Turkey and Mongolia; reading; hiking; kayaking; and staying current with local and national health care issues. Sandy firmly believes that a house is not a home without at least, one pet.
