David is a co-founder of Nurse Anesthesia of Maine (NAMe), and has served as its president and CEO/CFO since NAMe’s inception in 2003. David implements Nurse Anesthesia of Maine’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values by guiding and directing NAMe’s focus on the Quality of Anesthesia care rendered services to their clients, and services to their exceptional team. David also fulfills the role of the company’s Chief Financial Officer. He guided the growth and transformation of NAMe from a startup organization with 11 CRNAs serving Eastern Maine Medical Center through our current 55+ anesthetists serving 18 hospitals and clinics throughout Maine.

David earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine in 1979, and worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center until 1981. He served our country on active duty in the United States Air Force through the end of 1989. During that time, he graduated from the Air Force Squadron Officer School, Nursing Service Management School, and USAF Flight Nurse School. He was twice decorated with the USAF Meritorious Service Medal as well as other awards and honors. He primarily served as Officer in Charge of Intensive and Special Care Units and as Hospital Triage Officer at several facilities during his military career. He wrote self-paced courses for and taught Critical Care Nursing both to RNs and military Medical Technicians including managing ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring and other critical care components. David also has experience in Home Health Nursing and as a Hospital Supervisor.

He earned a Master of Science Nurse Anesthesia Degree from the University of New England in 1993, and is currently a practicing anesthetist in addition to his executive role. He has credentials at over 10 of the facilities Nurse Anesthesia of Maine serves. He has served as Chief CRNA for Eastern Maine Medical Center for over fourteen years in addition to his many years of managerial experience in the Air Force. David has extensive experience as a basic and advanced life support instructor. He is an associate professor and guest lecturer with the University of New England. Additionally, he has guest lectured at many Maine Association of Nurse Anesthetist and Maine Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses State educational meetings.

David has also served on the Maine Association of Nurse Anesthetists Board of Directors from 2003-2009. He currently serves the Maine State Board of Nursing as an active member of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Advisory Panel.

David has four daughters, a stepson, eight grandsons and a granddaughter. He is happily married to Christina Jamieson. Dave enjoys playing the piano and gardening.
